How to care for your hat

Taking care of your hat correctly will ensure it has a long life and you can enjoy it for many years.

We provide cleaning instructions under each product description on our website.

It is important to understand the fabric of your hat before throwing it in the wash. Natural fibres are more susceptible to shrinkage. That is why we suggest hand washing your items.

FABRIC HATS:

  • Bucket Hats
  • Maya
  • Daisy
  • Baby Bucket
  • Kids Sun Hat

Spot clean the dirty area with a damp cloth and mild detergent

Hand wash in cold water

Do not soak

Gently steam/cool iron to remove creases

STRAW HATS

  • Soleil
  • Riviera
  • Sorrento
  • Elyn
  • Marlow

To clean, wipe with a damp cloth

Stuff the crown with tissue paper to keep shape

Store hat upside down on crown. Keeping in on a flat surface will cause the brim to lose its shape.

Gently steam and use your fingers to reshape your straw hat if needed

You can also use an iron to press put any damages. Make sure to use on a low heat/use a towel or cloth between the hat and iron to ensure straw does not burn

Avoid getting your straw hat wet. Water will damage the straw and it will lose its shape

*Marlow only*:

To reshape brim, place on a flat surface and pack heavy items on brim (eg books). Keep over night
